Chicago Blues

Chicago Blues

I traveled to Chicago with some real music buffs. We spent an evening listening to some phenomenal blues at Buddy Guy’s Legends blues club, and the next morning found us at the home of the original Chess Records for a tour. Chess Records has since been swallowed up by larger recording studios, but we were regaled with some very personal stories about the history of the studio and its famous artists such as Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolf. Willie Dixon’s grandson was our tour guide, and he even brought out his grandfather’s bass for us to see and hold.
