Unusual Find on Puget Sound

While strolling around the grounds of Fort Casey State Park in the state of Washington, we saw a lighthouse, a kite flying competition, some great mountain views, and ferries crossing Puget Sound to Port Townsend. Up on a hill, overlooking the Sound, was an old cannon. I debated on climbing up to take a picture, but thought it might make good shot. Lo and behold, as I came around to the front of the cannon, I saw it was marked “Watervliet Arsenal 1903”. Well, for someone from the Albany, NY area whose grandfather and uncle both worked at the arsenal which is in Albany County, this was the surprise vacation find of the decade 🙂
