One of the classic symbols of Americana, right-behind “Mom” and “Apple Pie”, is “Chevrolet”. The emblem is known as a Bowtie, but the history of its origin is a bit of a mystery, with several stories circulating.
What’s in a name? We recognize many cars based on their symbol. The Cadillac emblem is actually based on the family crest of the man who founded Detroit in 1701 — Antoine de La Mothe, Sieur de Cadillac.
We had a beautiful evening for shooting the Albany Skyline. During these longs days of summer, it was a long wait for the evening sky to darken enough to show off the city lights! I do wish the towers has more lights on, but I suppose I should appreciate the energy savings.
The plan for later this week, is to get some shots of the Albany skyline in the evening. So, this morning I had a chance for a trial run in daylight.
I enjoy using filters such as Topaz to tweak some of my photos, but I never usually go this far! It was an ordinary shot of the Albany skyline that we see over and over, so I felt it deserved a boost.
If you read my posts, you know my favorite floral color is pink. 🙂 I was so excited to see a pink water lily in the sea of white ones on the pond at Innisfree Garden.
I don’t know too much about turtles, but this one seems to being enjoying the noon time sun. One step, (or maybe 2 or 3, it is a turtle), and it could cool itself off in the pond if needed.
